Our Take
Inspired by Tokyo’s Ramen Jiro, TabeTomo opened to serve oversized bowls loaded with chashu, cabbage, and garlic to the East Village crowd.

“Went to Tabetomo with a group and the appetizers really impressed me this time. We arrived around 7pm on a Friday and had no wait for a table of four, which was a nice surprise. But by the time we were leaving, there was a huge crowd by the door — it looked like it could easily have been close to an hour wait. Definitely a popular spot later in the evening. The karaage was noticeably better than I remember — super crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and well-seasoned. Easily one of the standouts of the night. We also ordered the chicken skins, which were crunchy and addictive, and the corn fritters, which had a nice sweetness and great texture. The hot stone dish was solid and great for sharing. As for the main event, the Jiro-style tsukemen is still great as always — thick, hearty, and very high quality. The broth has that deep, rich intensity you expect from Tabetomo, and it holds up well with the noodles. Overall, a strong group dinner spot. The appetizers really elevated the experience this time. thanks for coming with me @iamdorito @thursdaybabyy”

“My #2 favorite ramen spot in NYC — and easily the best place for Jiro-style ramen in the city. TabeTomo doesn't just serve a meal, they serve a challenge — massive portions, bold flavors, and thick, chewy noodles that soak up every drop of their rich, garlicky broth. The pork is generous and tender, and every bowl feels like an event. If you're craving Jiro-style and want it done right, this is the spot. Bonus: their appetizers are fire (definitely get the gyoza). You’ll walk out full, satisfied, and probably already planning your next visit.”
