TabeTomo bowl

🍜 Ramen Rating: 5 / 5

Went to Tabetomo with a group and the appetizers really impressed me this time. We arrived around 7pm on a Friday and had no wait for a table of four, which was a nice surprise. But by the time we were leaving, there was a huge crowd by the door — it looked like it could easily have been close to an hour wait. Definitely a popular spot later in the evening. The karaage was noticeably better than I remember — super crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and well-seasoned. Easily one of the standouts of the night. We also ordered the chicken skins, which were crunchy and addictive, and the corn fritters, which had a nice sweetness and great texture. The hot stone dish was solid and great for sharing. As for the main event, the Jiro-style tsukemen is still great as always — thick, hearty, and very high quality. The broth has that deep, rich intensity you expect from Tabetomo, and it holds up well with the noodles. Overall, a strong group dinner spot. The appetizers really elevated the experience this time. thanks for coming with me @iamdorito @thursdaybabyy

Menkoi Sato bowl

🍜 Ramen Rating: 3 / 5

Still one of my favorite places, but the taste of the food has changed a bit. I went to their grand reopening last night and felt so welcomed in the space. The staff is awesome and the atmosphere was great. That said, I have to admit the flavors of the ramen were a little different than I remember. I still enjoyed the meal, but it felt slightly underwhelming compared to past visits.

TORIBRO Ramen bowl

🍜 Ramen Rating: 5 / 5

if you’re looking for a good chicken broth ramen, you found it 🙌🏾🎊 I thoroughly enjoyed my ramen here. The place is very small but what’s an authentic ramen spot, if it’s not a smal cozy place. I actually can’t wait to go back for more Toribro Paitan 😋

Ramen DANBO West Village bowl

🍜 Ramen Rating: 4 / 5

Tonight we had a Sapporo, Genmaicha, Classic tonkatsu, miso tonkatsu and gyoza. The classic tonkatsu was by far my favorite, reasonable priced and served quickly. The broth was rich but not too heavy, the chashu was thinly sliced and noodles were chewy. The miso tonkatsu broth was less memorable but the noodles and chashu were consistent. Ramen Danbo is a chill low key spot to catch up with friends or eat alone. It’s nothing fancy. You know you’ll get a quick, consistent and delicious meal!

Afuri Ramen + Dumpling bowl

🍜 Ramen Rating: 3 / 5

great space to gather with friends and enjoy some good vibes. Their ramen is good but I can tell it was not as authentic as Japanese ramen should be but I still appreciated the food flavors. I was not a big fan of the dumplings. they weren’t memorable at all. The star of the show was the Yuzu Limeade beverage. I would go back just for that drink!

Afuri Ramen + Dumpling bowl

🍜 Ramen Rating: 3 / 5

AFURI was good overall, with a very clear identity centered around yuzu. The yuzu tsukemen had a lot of bright, citrus-forward flavor, but the portion of dipping broth felt a bit small for the noodles. Flavor-wise, it was clean and refreshing, though the yuzu sometimes bordered on overpowering rather than balanced. The ramen itself was well executed, but it felt like it was missing depth or backbone—everything was clean and precise, yet it didn’t quite deliver that lingering, satisfying richness I usually look for. Hard to put a finger on, but it lacked that final “wow” or emotional warmth. On the plus side, the gummy candies were great, and the cocktails really stood out—especially the yuzu and ginger drinks, which were excellent. AFURI really shines for yuzu-focused dishes and gluten-free options, which is a big win. The space is also impressive: huge, airy, and probably one of the largest ramen venues in Brooklyn (if not NYC), with plenty of room and strong potential for events.

Ramen Setagaya (Williamsburg) bowl

🍜 Ramen Rating: 4 / 5

A nice spot with a rustic atmosphere and authentic ramen. They have ramen made from 2 signature broths - tonkotsu and chicken, as well as vegan options. The Tori-shio ramen was straightforward without frills. Noodles were the kansui type with menma, seaweed, strips of grilled chicken thighs, scallions, and a seasoned egg as toppings. The broth was a little on the salty side. I was a little thrown off that the gyoza was deep-fried (not pan-fried) but otherwise most what you would find on the menu are common popular items that you would find in any ramen place. I would summarize my experience/meal as nice but not outstanding, but if you're in Williamsburg and looking for a decent bowl you can't go wrong coming here.
