September 2026 · Broth season
Ramen season is back
A new bowl to try, a much better map, and the biggest Ramen NYC app upgrade yet.

The cooler days are coming back, which means the city is ready for long lunches, late-night bowls, and finding a new favorite ramen shop. We’ve spent the summer making Ramen NYC faster, clearer, and much more useful—on the website and in the app.
|
What’s in the bowl
- New at Kanoyama: matcha ramen and shio ramen.
- A completely improved map for exploring ramen across NYC.
- A faster app with the Ramen NYC newsletter built in.

Kanoyama has two new ramen directions
The long-running sushi and omakase restaurant is now serving matcha ramen and shio ramen. These are recent additions shared with the Ramen NYC community, and they may not yet appear on Kanoyama’s online menu—ask about the new bowls when you visit.

Big website upgrade
Meet the new NYC ramen map
The restaurant list and map now move together. Search for a shop, narrow the city by borough, ramen style, price, dietary options, or what’s open now, then share the exact filtered view with a friend.

|
Better on your phone
The app got faster—and the newsletter moved in
Discover newly added restaurants, scan clearer map markers, and browse every newsletter issue without leaving the app. Previously opened editions remain available from the cache when your connection is unreliable.
- Clear markers for visited spots, Staff Picks, featured restaurants, events, and clusters.
- Faster tab startup and a smoother Community feed.
- Easier contribution actions from the You tab.
- Shared map and newsletter links open in the right place.
Also new: Japanese pages, a larger directory, cleaner galleries and search copy, clearer rewards, and performance improvements across the site.

Built by ramen explorers
Community pulse
Ramen explorers are adding new photos, reviews, and check-ins across the city. Every contribution makes the map more useful for the next person looking for a bowl—and gives the community more ramen to discover.
