Since opening near 148th Street, Jin Ramen has become the neighborhood’s go-to comfort spot — the kind of place where Columbia students, locals, and late-night slurpers squeeze in elbow-to-elbow for steamy bowls of Yuzu Shio, Tonkotsu, and spicy tan-tan. Their Bib Gourmand recognition wasn’t a fluke: Jin balances richness with nuance, from slow-simmered pork broth to inventive small plates like Chicken Nanban and crispy buns. It’s one of upper Manhattan’s earliest ramen pioneers, and still one of its most consistent.
